Last Wednesday, a dozen people gathered at Ascension UCC starting at 6pm for a short prayer service. Then ten people from the Islamic Society and several others (including former Literacy Director Eileen) came at 7pm for a wonderful salmon meal served by the Ascension membership.
During dessert Pastor Martin, Mike Kingsley, and several others presented about the ongoing need and presence of the unhoused in our community. It was a great evening of fellowship, resolution to partner more in ministry, and, especially on the part of Mike Kingsley, sharing how Jesus compels us to serve the community.
