Central Presbyterian Church will celebrate 21 years with a concert in the jurors' lot across DeKalb St. from our shared church building. Free food and lots of music! They have done this concert several times over the years, but this will be the first outdoor event in a while (weather permitting, of course).  Please click here for a video from their church Facebook advertising (in Spanish) the upcoming event.

The Literacy Council is hosting a cleaning day in tandem with Deloitte Financial Consulting Firm. As with last year, Deloitte is sending their employees here as a service project. They expect about 50 volunteers and are working in two shifts: 8am-noon and 1-5pm with lunch in Eastwick from noon-1pm provided by Literacy.
There are many tasks to complete: scrub and paint all entrances, including the corner of Airy and Dekalb, clean up garbage and debris around property, enhance gardens with new plants and bushes, scour the kitchen, assist the Coalition to Save Lives with cleaning and organizing donated clothes and household goods, paint LCN Reading Room and nursery, and conduct resume/job search workshop.

Sunday, June 2 after coffee hour
The last 2 years we have had several of these presentations & discussions. The topic this time will be God's foreknowledge, a subject that includes concepts like free will and predestination. There will be about a 10-15 minute slideshow on 4 different Christian views on this, and then we will circle the chairs for an informal discussion with whomever wants to stick around.
