First Pres Norristown is invited to this festive gathering featuring joyful singing of your favorite holiday carols. Afterward, enjoy a delightful cookie swap, where you can share and sample a variety of delicious treats. It's a wonderful opportunity to connect with friends and celebrate the season together. Last Wednesday, a dozen people gathered at Ascension UCC starting at 6pm for a short prayer service. Then ten people from the Islamic Society and several others (including former Literacy Director Eileen) came at 7pm for a wonderful salmon meal served by the Ascension membership.
During dessert Pastor Martin, Mike Kingsley, and several others presented about the ongoing need and presence of the unhoused in our community. It was a great evening of fellowship, resolution to partner more in ministry, and, especially on the part of Mike Kingsley, sharing how Jesus compels us to serve the community. First Pres is collecting personal care items for the Hospitality Center. There is a box in the sanctuary for donations. Suggestions: toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, tissues, shampoos, etc. All items will be given to the homeless of Norristown. Personal clothing such as socks, underwear, etc. are also needed. Collecting now thru December 8th. Thank you!
