First Pres is collecting personal care items for the Hospitality Center. There is a box in the sanctuary for donations. Suggestions: toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, tissues, shampoos, etc. All items will be given to the homeless of Norristown. Personal clothing such as socks, underwear, etc. are also needed. Collecting now thru December 8th. Thank you!
Greater Norristown Area Ministerium held a Clergy Appreciation Event on October 22 at Centre Theater just a few blocks from us. Pastor Martin attended and received, along with all the other pastors, a certificate from our district in the PA House of Representatives. There was also a slideshow cataloging the ministerium's work (composed by Pastor Martin & Pearl Flamberg), along with dinner and a historical exhibit of Charles Blockson that is well worth your time to look into more. First Pres has a long standing tradition of partnering with Samaritan's Purse by filling shoe boxes with Christmas surprises and essential items for children around the world. Shoeboxes and informational materials can be found in the DeKalb Street entrance. Please pray about how you would like to help, and join us in spreading God’s love around the world at Christmas time.
