Code Blue Shelters

When Montgomery County calls a Code Blue advisory it is unsafe for anyone to sleep outside that night. We hosted a Code Blue shelter in tandem with the Hospitality Center for two winters 2020-2022, but the situation is much more uncertain this year.

The Hospitality Center is NOT able to operate one this winter. Haws Avenue Methodist is still hosting their own. Church on the Mall (a PCUSA congregation in our Presbytery) is no longer hosting one in tandem with TLC for the People, a Plymouth Meeting-based advocacy group.

TLC for the People is hosting a Code Blue Shelter at St. John's Episcopal Church this year, but they are in desperate need of more volunteers. Unfortunately, many nights they have been unable to open due to not having enough volunteers. Please see their website or Facebook if you can help or can spread the word.
