10:30am Traditional Advent Worship: We will light the white LOVE candle (the last blue Advent candle) and sing more Advent/Christmas hymns.
6pm Candlelight Service: We will light the CHRIST candle and sing Silent Night in our traditional festival of the lights. This year we also offer electronic candles as another option.
First Pres Sports Club hosted their annual Christmas Party on Sat., Dec.16.
117 children received books, crafts, Bibles, and a Christmas gift. Lunch for kids and their parents was provided! Special thanks to our church and community volunteers, Toys for Tots, Lou's Sandwich Shop, Morabito Bakery, Clemens Food Group and Literacy Council Norristown for their help with making this event a success!
When Montgomery County calls a Code Blue advisory it is unsafe for anyone to sleep outside that night. We hosted a code blue shelter in tandem with the Hospitality Center upstairs for 2 winters 2020-2022, and the Hospitality Center worked with Haws Ave Methodist for an even bigger space and more clients last year. This is where shelters are this winter:
Haws Ave Methodist will host their own independently,
St. John's Episcopal will host one in partnership with the Hospitality Center and our friend Mike Kingsley, and
Church on the Mall (a PCUSA congregation in our Presbytery) will host one over in the Plymouth Meeting Mall.
Please spread the news and keep these important ministries in prayer as they work to provide the love of Jesus and life-saving support to our unhoused neighbors.
